Announcing an Innovative and Unusual Range From PaddyWax

A warm welcome to Paddywax, a wonderful range of innovative and unusual products that we just couldn’t resist.

Paddywax began life when Gretchen, the founder, started dabbling in candlemaking as a hobby, experimenting for long hours in her kitchen. She soon realised that she had a passion and a talent for the art and the magic began to happen.

Gretchen set out with her philosophy that ‘Work must be fun!’ and the belief that life is too short not to indulge! Importantly, the company has a firm ethos in conserving the earth’s natural resources and, to that end, uses soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks and 100% post-consumer recycled packaging. In addition, they use wood sourced from sustainable forests, and plant trees. We also love the fact that all their candle containers are a delight to continue to use after the candle has burned for the final time, you can use them as decorative bowls or containers to brighten up your homes. In our opinion, it doesn’t get much more responsible than that.

The themed ranges that Paddywax present captured our imagination! The theme flows through each range to include fragrance, style and decoration.

The Botany range is presented in earthenware lidded pots or tins, decorated with leaf designs. The fragrances are all inspired by nature and are designed for anyone with slightly green fingers. The added touch of a seal to the jar makes it a really useful pot to keep around the house once your candle is burnt out. Our particular favourites here are the Vagabond range, and the Blue Apothecary. Wonderfully exotic and rich fragrances run through the Vagabond range, which is presented in beautiful gold tins with travel labels decorated with famous landmarks.

The blue Apothecary range conjures up old pharmacy bottles, and the fragrances are inspired by herbal remedies, they are gorgeous and original, and work so will with the jars and pill boxes. And what of the fragrances? There is a wonderful variety of innovative and contemporary combinations on offer, many of which bring a delightfully fresh twist to old favourites. Fresh Meyer Lemon is lemon – but with a ‘Wow!’ to it. Tobacco Flower & Ginger is a surprising combination of slightly sweet floral, pepped up with the zing of ginger. Earl Grey and Lavender is wonderfully elegant, summery and – well it just works brilliantly! Sample and enjoy!
